Richard H. Shinn, Ph.D.
Founder & CEO, AIBrain
Richard is founder and CEO of AIBrain. His goal is to build a true AI by unifying cognitive, social and emotional intelligence. Prior to AIBrain, Richard founded CrossCert, Inc., the first digital certification authority service company in South Korea in 1999. In 2010, CrossCert made its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in South Korea’s KOSDAQ market. CrossCert became one of the most trusted public company in South Korea. He is also the founder of South Korea’s first direct insurance company in 2000, which is now AXA Direct Korea.
Richard did his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at Georgia Institute of Technology.
David Min, Ph.D.
David had led Software Center of LG Electronics, and previously worked at Microsoft, Samsung Electronics, and Digital Equipment Corporation. His past work involves software technologies for business process automation, embedded systems software for consumer electronics, and shared-memory based operating system for high speed computing. He is always interested in applying the ever evolving field of software for solving everyday challenges. He holds PhD in computer science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Steve Omohundro, Ph.D
Chief Advisor and Scientist
Steve is president of both Possibility Research and Self-Aware Systems, a think tank working to ensure that intelligent technologies have a positive impact. He was a computer science professor at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and cofounded the Center for Complex Systems Research. He published the book Geometric Perturbation Theory in Physics, designed the programming languages StarLisp and Sather, wrote the 3D graphics system for Mathematica, and built systems which learn to read lips, control robots, and induce grammars. He’s done internationally recognized work on AI safety and strategies for creating beneficial technologies. He earned degrees in physics and mathematics from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Ricky Wong (黄益源)
Country Manager, AIBrain China
Ricky was the co-founder of iMaibo,net, a prominent financial SNS in China based in Guangzhou. iMaibo has successfully achieved over 200K daily active users and EBITA break even in 3 years’ time. Ricky was the Asia Pacific Sales Director of VeriSign, a global Internet security company and Greater China General Manager of GE Information Services respectively. Ricky graduated from University of Waterloo, Canada with a B Math major in Computer Science and a MSc from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
CMO and VP, Sales & Marketing
Peter is responsible for AIBrian’s global marketing and sales teams for mid to long term strategic and annual business plans to ensure company’s revenue goals. Peter is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in developing and managing multi-national companies where he executed the Enterprise and SME client acquisitions globally. Prior to AIBrain, Peter was the Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Business Development at Britelab, Inc., a subsidiary of PH Group. Peter holds B.S. in Management Information Systems from Drexel University.
Wilfred O. Odoyo, Ph. D.
Director, Global AI Technical Unit
Has worked with AIBrain Inc., since 2012 during which he has mainly led research and development of Tyche, an AI robot which displays a holistic human-like intelligence. Tyche is a CES 2014, Innovation Award Winner in the Category of Technology for a Better World. In this domain he has gained hands-on experience in the implementation of AI technologies including ML and Natural Language Processing. His vision is shaped by the strong background in Computer Vision and AI major subjects. He holds a M.S. and a Ph. D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Chosun University, S. Korea.
Julius Zauleck, Ph.D.
Julius joined AIBrain in 2018 as AI Scientist. He brings a broad understanding of the state of the art of Machine Learning/Deep Learning in the scientific disciplines to the company. Julius has a strong publication history in high-impact journals and did his Ph.D. on the application of Deep Learning to computational chemistry at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany.
Robotic AI Scientist
Oswald is a PhD candidate at the Adaptive systems group led by Prof. Hafner at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His research is about self-exploration and sensorimotor skill learning in robots, taking a developmental robotics approach. This being only half the story, Oswald has accumulated a unique profile as a digital musician over the last 20 years.
Robotic AI Scientist
Matthias Kubisch, Robotic AI Scientist is a PhD candidate at the Adaptive systems group as well, pursuing his vision of an affordable walking robot platform, combining bio-inspired learning processes with full-on mechatronic design. Matthias is qualified further by his unique social and aesthetic sensitivity, and rare intellectual scope and style.
Bernhard Egger, Ph.D.
Bernhard Egger is an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU). He received a combined B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich, ETHZ) in 2001 and a PhD degree in Computer Science from SNU in 2008. After obtaining his PhD degree, he spent three years as a senior research engineer at Samsung’s central research facility, the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) before re-joining SNU in March of 2011.
Raymond Perrault, Ph.D.
As Director of SRI International’s Artificial Intelligence Center, Ray Perrault was co-PI of the DARPA-funded CALO Project, a multi-institutional project to develop an enduring personalized cognitive assistant. Several technologies developed on that project were the seeds for spinoff companies (Siri, SocialKinetics, TrapIt, Desti, Tempo) and for transitions to military applications. He is Fellow of AAAI, has been President of the Association for Computational Linguistics, President of the International Joint Conferences in Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI), Co-Editor-in-Chief of Artificial Intelligence and won IJCAI’s 2011 Donald E Walker Distinguished Service Award.
Soo Young Lee, Ph.D.
Soo Young is currently involved in building an augmented human intelligence with AIBrain, while he serves as the Director, Brain Science Research Center, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He was Principal Investigator, Korean Brain Science Research Program under BrainTech21, for 10 years from 1998 until 2008, granted US$30 million with 25 professors and 70 graduate students. He is also Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Electrophysics from Polytechnic Institute of New York.
