Richard H. Shinn, Ph.D.

Founder & CEO, AIBrain

Richard is founder and CEO of AIBrain. His goal is to build a true AI by unifying cognitive, social and emotional intelligence. Prior to AIBrain, Richard founded CrossCert, Inc., the first digital certification authority service company in South Korea in 1999. In 2010, CrossCert made its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in South Korea’s KOSDAQ market. CrossCert became one of the most trusted public company in South Korea. He is also the founder of South Korea’s first direct insurance company in 2000, which is now AXA Direct Korea. Richard earned a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from Seoul National University, a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University, and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Stephen Williams, Ph.D.

Chief Product Advisor, Life Sciences

Stephen Williams, Ph.D., has been a Partner with Catalyst Advisors since 2012. Steve led discovery biology and pre-clinical development for radiopharmaceuticals at DuPont / New England Nuclear, resulting in the discovery and development of Cardiolite® and Neurolite®. He also led strategic product planning at DuPont Merck Pharmaceuticals. He was a Medical Director in new product planning for CNS diseases at Bristol-Myers Squibb. As the head of business development, he executed a successful IPO at Progenitor, a biotechnology company. Steve received his B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Duke University.

Milan Lee, J.D.

Chief Strategy Officer

Milan, a high-tech start-up veteran and long-time AI enthusiast, is committed to empowering intellectual innovation. As AIBrain’s Chief Strategy Officer, she works to build synergism amongst investors, developers, and consumers, allowing for creative solutions to global problems. Milan has leveraged the power of cutting-edge technology since launching her first successful startup, Netizen Communications Inc., in 1996. As the founder and CEO, she grew $1M of venture capital funding into a $10M company in just three years. Over the next two decades, she served as founder and CEO of uBond.com Inc., the Venture Academy Foundation, and her latest passion project, WiseMe.Ai. Milan holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from San Francisco Law School, and BA in Economics with a Philosophy minor from U.C. Davis.

Bernhard Egger, Ph.D.

Academic Advisor

Bernhard Egger is an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU). He received a combined B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich, ETHZ) in 2001 and a PhD degree in Computer Science from SNU in 2008. After obtaining his PhD degree, he spent three years as a senior research engineer at Samsung’s central research facility, the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) before re-joining SNU in March of 2011.
